***new TyBro item - hat racks are here!!!***

let's hear it for the BOYS!!

i said i was working on them and here they are - personalized hat racks!! i have a variety of sizes that I can work with but shown here are the baseball hooks. They are 6" in diameter and hold approximately 4-6 youth-sized baseball hats on the double hook shown.

yankees and angels hat racks for the boys in my house (still have to personalize them). despite my best efforts, my oldest seems to gravitate toward the angels. blasphemy! at least it's not the red sox... ;)

and this is the oblong-shaped hat rack - perfect for the football fans! it spans about 7" across and 5" in height. i can mount one double hook or two single hooks on this rack.

***if you're looking for something that would hold more than 4-6 hats, i do have larger plaques. they don't come in baseball/football shapes but can be designed to match any decor, sports team, etc. and more hooks can be added.

more than just a place for photos

these frames are such a cool way to frame a favorite photo. i love finding the perfect quote or word to describe the person(s) that are being framed.

this "cherish" frame was made as a gift for someone who recently lost her brother. i hope she finds the perfect photo of the two of them to put in this frame.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

and this frame was made to celebrate little Brody's (aka Lil Peanut's!) first birthday. to deliver this frame to my client, we arranged to meet for lunch where both of our Brody's (and their big brothers) dined together. :)

Happy Birthday, Brody!

new wall letter fonts and sizes!

at last i've found a way to offer a wide variety of fonts for my wall letters! while i love the classic block letters, it's always fun to expand

here are some of my first 'experiments' with new fonts.

this large letter "A" was done in a Lucida font and painted to match little "A's" nursery. it is 24" in height (the standard height is 9") so it's a large, bold, yet classy accent piece that rests on a shelf in A's room. i love A's mom's sense of style and admire her eye for decorating so i love this idea!

(pricing on enlarged letters do vary as they cost more to make).
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

i was so happy to reconnect with an old college friend and sorority sister (ah, the powers of facebook) and honored when she asked me to put together some letters for her daughter's room. she chose "Vingy" font and her colors were light and dark pinks and navy blues. when i was finished with these i attached navy blue ribbons to allow them to hang on little sophia's walls.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

and these letters were so fun to do - plus it was nice to do something "boy" after all these girly girl orders! Ty's mom sent me photos of his construction bedding so i created his letters to accent his bedding and room colors.

(construction signs are hand-painted.)

new fonts

playing around with some new fonts for the hair bow holders. they are a very popular item these days! :)

girly girl

all about the girls these days! a few more orders for hairband boxes to help keep all those hairbands from running away, falling behind the dresser, etc.

this set was made for a set of twins!

and this one was designed to match the growth chart and hair bow holder that already adorn sweet "A's" bedroom! love the pinks and browns together!

**new item alert!**

and i'm happy to announce that TyBro Treasures is adding another new item! i haven't even posted it to the official website yet! now available: personalized hair band boxes in a variety of shapes and sizes (mini round, square, mini square, flower, star, and hexagon).

here are the latest:

half-sized growth chart

this client requested a growth chart but had a very specific place where it would fit on the wall in her son's room. originally she had a cloth growth chart hanging there and "someone" took a sharpie marker to it to measure his own height! looking for a more durable replacement, she came to me! this chart is still 48" in height but only 7.5" across. other TyBro growth charts are 12" across. this "half-sized" chart is now available upon request.

more hair bow holders!

shh- this one is a gift for a very special (almost) 2 year old...say it ain't so! i hope she likes it - along with the very cool handmade/handstitched personalize hair clip compliments of my friend, shannon with peanut crafts!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
i was happy to make this one for a good friend that i haven't seen in WAY too long. in fact, the last time i saw sweet ryleigh she was just a few weeks old! we can't wait to catch up with these old friends this fall - and see ryleigh's hair bow holder on her wall!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

and this request was for something a little different. this fun mom needed an organization solution not only for hair bows but for all of her daughter's itty-bitty hairbands that end up all over the place. oh yeah, and something for the headbands, too...

so we came up with a solution - i attached two mini boxes to the hair bow holder and - voila! - two places to help catch all those wandering hairbands. not shown in this picture are the ribbons for the hair bows and the double hook that we placed in between the two boxes to help gather up the headbands. phew! but what a great idea!

(note: add-ons to the hair bow holders are an additional cost)

gifts for graduating seniors

i'm always up for a new "idea" or challenge! this one came from a neighbor who cut a news article out for one of her daughter's friends. she wanted to do something special with the article - which is where i came in! the article itself speaks volumes about this graduating senior as she prepares to go to Northeastern University so my task was easy. congratulations, alexis!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the request for this frame was for another graduating senior. i love this quote - so appropriate for anyone college-bound and/or taking the next "step" in life.
I hope your dreams take you to the corners of your smiles,
To the highest of your hopes,
To the windows of your opportunities,
And to the most special places your heart has ever known.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

made for another graduating senior!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
i was particularly fired up to make the frame below - designed to be another gift for a graduating senior on her way to FIU to play softball!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

this request was not for a graduating senior but a "very girly" 2 year old! hope this is girly enough for her!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
and this one is for a brand new baby girl, kylee. welcome to the world, sassy little one!
**new item!!**
introducing a new TyBro product - a personalized hair clip holder! i was asked to make one for a friend's daughter and i just love doing 'girly' stuff. hair clip holders have strands of ribbon dangling for an adorable (and organized!) way of storing hair clips. hair clip holders can also be made out of 5" and 9" wall letters.
stay tuned for the boy version of this - a hat rack!
price: $25 (plus shipping, if applicable)
** hair bows/clips not included
abbigail zara diehl
one thing i love about creating keepsakes is getting to know the beautiful people for whom the items are created, even if i never get to meet them in person. i got a request from a friend to make a frame to honor sweet Abbigail Zara Diehl. Abbigail was born prematurely at 26 weeks gestation on February 26, 2009. despite a tremendous will to live, Abbigail lost her 15-day battle on March 13th.
when i was given the photo above (taken by Abbigail's grandfather) i immediately thought of the accompanying quote to help emphasize this beautiful moment between mom and baby. my heart goes out to the diehl family and my prayers continue for their strength and healing. i'm so glad the diehl's have such good friends and family in their lives.
It's truly amazing how many people were touched by this little, tiny miracle. Abbigail's passing serves as a reminder of how precious life is...and makes me hug my own babies a little tighter.
growing like weeds
it did my heart good to make this chart, so i was happy to oblige ethan's mom's request! i'm not much of an NFL fan, but the bills were my dad's favorite team and i know he would have gotten a kick out of this one.
happy 1st birthday, little ethan!
can't wait to watch you grow - even if it is from afar. :(
this chart was made for little Lexxie who just turned 4 years old! mom wanted the 4 colors as a base to 'blend' together - similar to the bedding in Lexxie's room. and fairies - Lexxie likes fairies but specifically NOT tinkerbell. the sparkles behind the fairies were intended to look like fairy dust. in addition, i painted 6 circles to match that lexxie's mom is going to use to mount photos of Lexxie on the chart as she grows.
happy 4th birthday, Lex!
**note: growth charts cost $50 plus shipping (if applicable). add-ons, such as large letters, incur additional costs.
don't just SAY it, WEAR it!
i am not quite ready to add t-shirts to my TyBro Treasures repetoire, but here are a few things I'm dabbling in lately. i don't want to offer them for sale just yet as I can't guarantee the quality. currently it seems as soon as they are washed, they fade considerably. once i figure out how to 'perfect' them a bit and make them last longer/resist fading, etc., i may add them as TyBro items in the future.
if you are interested in designing a t-shirt(s), shoot me an email and we can discuss it further.
these TRI shirts were made for my boys to show their support of my husband, my brother-in-law and my older son's godfather as they participated in a Triathalon in Tampa, FL. the front of the shirt shows a picture of the athletes and the back says, "You don't have to win, you just have to TRI."
below are two shirts made for some expectant big brothers - their new baby brother is due in june! mom wanted the older boys to have something "cool" to wear to school the day their brother is born.
and these bright, yellow "Veterans for Sarcoma" t-shirts were done as a "bulk" order - and are on their way to TX for a Memorial Day triathalon event. they were made for all of the children of the athletes who are participating in the event that weekend. 100% of the proceeds for these t-shirts will be donated by TyBro Treasures to the Veterans for Sarcoma awareness fund.
as some of you may know, my brother-in-law was diagnosed with Sarcoma Cancer about 18 months ago. thankfully he is now Cancer-free but not without his own personal battle. to continue the fight, he has formed a team of Triathletes who race in support of finding a cure for Sarcoma.
frame it!
frames always make the perfect gift - and for me it's always fun to 'girl it up' (since i'm living in a house full of testosterone!) these coordinating, girly frames were made for Jacey and Desiree, ages 1 and 5, who are step-sisters and share a room. They're too young to have similar interests just yet, but anyone can tell they are already fast friends.
the frame below is a "gooney bird" - designed to match the pottery barn kids decor in a little boys' bedroom. the room theme was chosen to honor the child's deceased grandfather, who was a gooney bird pilot in WW2. i've made frames for members of this family before and i always love the meaning behind the decor or chosen phrases. they have an amazing sense of family - and incredibly strong family bond.
i personally love the big, fat letters for this little guy's frame!
watch me grow!
sweet little amelia posed perfectly with her growth chart that shipped out on monday and arrived today (wednesday!) now that's service! and she's just about the cutest model I could ask for, too. thanks for the order, jen! as you said, she's getting big, and now you have the chart to prove it!
