abbigail zara diehl

one thing i love about creating keepsakes is getting to know the beautiful people for whom the items are created, even if i never get to meet them in person. i got a request from a friend to make a frame to honor sweet Abbigail Zara Diehl. Abbigail was born prematurely at 26 weeks gestation on February 26, 2009. despite a tremendous will to live, Abbigail lost her 15-day battle on March 13th.

when i was given the photo above (taken by Abbigail's grandfather) i immediately thought of the accompanying quote to help emphasize this beautiful moment between mom and baby. my heart goes out to the diehl family and my prayers continue for their strength and healing. i'm so glad the diehl's have such good friends and family in their lives.

It's truly amazing how many people were touched by this little, tiny miracle. Abbigail's passing serves as a reminder of how precious life is...and makes me hug my own babies a little tighter.

growing like weeds

it did my heart good to make this chart, so i was happy to oblige ethan's mom's request! i'm not much of an NFL fan, but the bills were my dad's favorite team and i know he would have gotten a kick out of this one.

happy 1st birthday, little ethan!

can't wait to watch you grow - even if it is from afar. :(

this chart was made for little Lexxie who just turned 4 years old! mom wanted the 4 colors as a base to 'blend' together - similar to the bedding in Lexxie's room. and fairies - Lexxie likes fairies but specifically NOT tinkerbell. the sparkles behind the fairies were intended to look like fairy dust. in addition, i painted 6 circles to match that lexxie's mom is going to use to mount photos of Lexxie on the chart as she grows.

happy 4th birthday, Lex!

**note: growth charts cost $50 plus shipping (if applicable). add-ons, such as large letters, incur additional costs.

don't just SAY it, WEAR it!

i am not quite ready to add t-shirts to my TyBro Treasures repetoire, but here are a few things I'm dabbling in lately. i don't want to offer them for sale just yet as I can't guarantee the quality. currently it seems as soon as they are washed, they fade considerably. once i figure out how to 'perfect' them a bit and make them last longer/resist fading, etc., i may add them as TyBro items in the future.

if you are interested in designing a t-shirt(s), shoot me an email and we can discuss it further.

these TRI shirts were made for my boys to show their support of my husband, my brother-in-law and my older son's godfather as they participated in a Triathalon in Tampa, FL. the front of the shirt shows a picture of the athletes and the back says, "You don't have to win, you just have to TRI."

below are two shirts made for some expectant big brothers - their new baby brother is due in june! mom wanted the older boys to have something "cool" to wear to school the day their brother is born.

and these bright, yellow "Veterans for Sarcoma" t-shirts were done as a "bulk" order - and are on their way to TX for a Memorial Day triathalon event. they were made for all of the children of the athletes who are participating in the event that weekend. 100% of the proceeds for these t-shirts will be donated by TyBro Treasures to the Veterans for Sarcoma awareness fund.

as some of you may know, my brother-in-law was diagnosed with Sarcoma Cancer about 18 months ago. thankfully he is now Cancer-free but not without his own personal battle. to continue the fight, he has formed a team of Triathletes who race in support of finding a cure for Sarcoma.

frame it!

frames always make the perfect gift - and for me it's always fun to 'girl it up' (since i'm living in a house full of testosterone!) these coordinating, girly frames were made for Jacey and Desiree, ages 1 and 5, who are step-sisters and share a room. They're too young to have similar interests just yet, but anyone can tell they are already fast friends.

the frame below is a "gooney bird" - designed to match the pottery barn kids decor in a little boys' bedroom. the room theme was chosen to honor the child's deceased grandfather, who was a gooney bird pilot in WW2. i've made frames for members of this family before and i always love the meaning behind the decor or chosen phrases. they have an amazing sense of family - and incredibly strong family bond.

i personally love the big, fat letters for this little guy's frame!
